Upcoming features:

  • Costing option: Exclude words of “locked” (read-only) segments from cost calculation. In combination with the option to automatically lock pre-translations, you are able to exclude pre-translations from supplier cost calculations. Have a look at the word count settings and the price list configuration pages.
  • Projects: Supplier selection screen shows comments added on each supplier record.
  • Softissimo Reverso machine translation: One-click translate entire documents using Reverso from the word count page. Go to ‘Settings’ then ‘Machine translation’ for instructions on how to obtain your Reverso license key.

Released features:

  • released – New language “Oromo” added (ISO code “om”). You do not know the language? Check out at Wikipedia.
  • released - Ultimate pre-translation with Codyt projects: Pre-translate documents prior to kicking off translation workflows. When uploading new documents, simply tick the “Machine translate” option.
  • released - Client portal: A client may have one or more logins/users. A new access right is added that permits to specify which users can see their own requests/orders only and which users within the client can see all requests/orders. You might then setup two client user profiles such as “Client manager” and “Client user”. Other access rights for client users already exist, for example, to prevent users from seeing financial information. Go to “Settings” > “Access rights”, section “Client portal”.
  • released - Option to automatically lock (make read-only) translations that are pre-translations. The option can be set in the word count profile. Locked texts cannot be edited by users unless their user profile includes the right to unlock texts. By default, only internal team leaders, managers and the administrator do have this right.
  • released - Client/Supplier details page: Additional options for the “Type” field: Domestic Corporation, Domestic Individual, International Corporation, Client Agency, Other Suppliers, Other.
  • released - Placeables: Support for Japanese date formats, including Japanese specific calendars. We identify and localize dates such as: 平成24年4月1日, H24.6.3, 2012年1月1日 or 1月1日. Localization works both from and to Japanese.
  • released - Ultimate pre-translation with Standard projects: Machine Translation can be run at the same time as word counting and memory pre-translation. Have Wordbee do it all at once: Perfect (110%) pre-translation from memories, Exact (100%) pre-translation from memories, Leveraging of previous document versions (100% and 110%), and finally Machine translation. Then kick of translation and post-editing workflow. How to: When you do the word count in standard projects, look for the new Machine Translate option!
  • released - Invoices: items for different task categories are sorted more naturally. For example, currently “Quality control” items are listed before “Revision” items.
  • released - Resources: When indicating that a language in a translation memory or term base is a source language, the system immediately proposes to index the contents. Currently this required an extra two clicks.
  • released - Languages: Language selectors (projects, etc.) propose almost 400 languages. You can now delimit this list to exactly the languages that you really need for your work. Go to “Settings” and then “Languages”.
  • released - Standard project job creation: Extend possibility to create jobs for two task categories in one step to three categories in one step. This permits to create translations, revision and proofreading tasks all at once.
  • released - Standard project – job page: The link “Translate” next to each job document is renamed “View work”
  • released - Assigning translation memories and term bases to specific clients. Such memories are then for exclusive use for these clients’ projects.
  • released - Placeables: Automatic substitution of dates and numbers during pre-translation and lookup in the translation editor. Replacement can be enabled/disabled with the settings button in the translation editor toolbar.
  • released - Perfect match word and character counts. During a word count Wordbee indicates identical TM hits. With this new feature it will further show the number of identical hits where the preceding and subsequent text portions match as well. Such hits are called perfect hits. Note: Only documents you mark for translations since release of this feature will be used to identify perfect matches. Older translations do, unfortunately, not contain the contextual information needed.
  • released - New access right: Enable or disable the right to split/join segments. By default, the right is set for all user profiles except the internal and external limited worker profiles.
  • released - Custom fields for TMs and termbases: Per custom field specify whether available only for TMs, only for terms or both.
  • released - Login page shows a link to this page (unless ‘recent blog entries’ is disabled in Settings menu)
  • released - API event log: A new page under “Settings” > “Activity” > “API” that shows all API calls. Failed calls are printed with error code and message.
  • released - Perfect pre-translations: All word count screens show separate column with perfect (in context) pre-translations. These are either translations recovered from the previous document version or hits in a TM whereby the context (text before and after) is identical.
  • released - Costing of perfect pre-translations: Optionally define a specific discount for perfect matches in the price list page.
  • released - Costing of machine translation counts: Optionally define a specific discount for machine translated segments in the price list page.
  • released - Project consolidation workflow: The system can be configured to request project memory consolidation upon project completion or archival. This feature is useful if you would like to systematically consolidate translations into master memories. Go to “Settings” > “Reuse and Consolidation” for more.
  • released - Xliff export: New option to exclude translations from the exported xliff.
  • released - Consolidate project memories to master memories. The project resources page contains a new link to copy contents to a master memory. This link would typically be clicked upon project completion.
  • released - New “can reuse” flag for translation memories, project memories and terminology databases: If reuse is disabled then the resource cannot be referenced from projects for the purpose of leveraging. Default values can be specified under “Settings” to make project memories not reusable by default.
  • released – Copy and merge project memory contents to translation memories as well as to merge contents of memories or terminology databases. For example, this feature will allow transfer of project memories to a master memory.
  • released - Offline work feature: Take a translation offline, then edit, review or proof in XLIFF and finally push back changes to Wordbee.
  • released - Possibility to add custom fields to translation memory and terminology database details page. Go to Settings, then Custom fields, then click Resources to add your personal text fields or pickup lists.

  • released - Translation editor ‘Document Viewer’ pane: Graphical improvements and direct access to source file and deliverable attachments.
  • released Translation memory settings: Add option to adjust how placeables impact the match similarity. E.g. 10/10/2010 and 12/12/2011 are two dates. The system automatically identifies both dates and yields a similarity just below 100%. The new option permits to either disable placeables completely or to have the system consider these as 100% identical.
  • released - Translation memory settings: Add new option for how whitespaces are compared. For example, one option considers a whitespace sequences in source and target identical even if the source has 2 spaces and the target 1.
  • released - Translation editor: Check button adds option to remove or highlight double spaces.
  • released - Translation editor: Option to highlight spaces with dots. This permits the translator to see spaces and multiple spaces more easily.
  • released - Security policy settings: Admin options to specify minimum password complexity, password expiration and more.
  • released - Word count options: New option to only count repetitions at 100%.
  • released - Word count options: New option to switch off counting repetitions within a project if the matches are not yet translated.
  • released – Security policy setting: Admin option to enforce SSL on all pages. Option is available from “Settings” > “Advanced security settings”

  • released – Support for costing based on translated words and characters. Both standard and Codyt projects now permit to calculate translated words/chars upon completion of jobs. Costs can then be calculated based on these numbers.

  • released – Improved Asian and Right-to-Left languages support in Microsoft Word: The MS Word configuration now lets the admin to specify a default target font to be used in a translated document. For example, when translating from English into Japanese, the fonts in the original document may not support Japanese characters. With the new configuration set, Wordbee changes the font of the translated document.
  • released – Codyt batch cost calculation: When calculating supplier costs in batch the user interface substantially reduced number of clicks.
  • released – XML file support: The configuration now permits to specify regular expressions to isolate pieces of text which are displayed/protected in the translation interface. The matching texts are rendered as markup in the editor.
  • released – Multilingual XML files: The configuration exposes a new option to pre-translate from earlier file version using a new algorithm: Instead of comparing source texts in new and old file version, the new algorithm identifies segments from their unique ID (contained in the xml).  This feature is useful in localization processes where segments are typically identified by a unique ID.
  • released – Multilingual XML files: The configuration permits to specify an XPath to extract unique segment identifiers or contextual information from the xml.
  • released – Codyt projects: Support for workflows with any language directions, individually per document. Example: First translate document from Japanese to English, then translate from English into French, German and Spanish.
  • released – Import of TMs: Saved preferences for import settings can now be shared with other users. This allows to define platform wide import settings that can be used by all (authorised) users.
